- You're prepping your skin for old age - people who start using skin care products around adolescence and in the long run, their skin ages better.
- It improves the look of your skin - got red patches or uneven skin tone? Using the right products with the right ingredients (brand doesn't really matter here, so no need to empty your purse just for a branded bottle, it isn't always worth your money) will take care of those, same goes with skin with acne and break-outs.
- If you're a makeup junkie, all that makeup clogs your pores, some of the ingredients aren't completely healthy for your skin and if left on for a long time it's actually toxic. Skin care products help neutralize that toxic and restore the nutrients in the skin.
Skin care is a long-term thing, you can't just start using it and expect results the next hour, this isn't makeup. You have to use it for a certain amount of time to get results. As Andrew Matthews (author of#1 bestseller 'Being A Happy Teen') says: 'Effort + patience = results'.
My skin type is oily, according to a Bioelements product brochure. Bioelements is a brand of skin care products made in USA. The brochure doesn't say much about the ingredients, but I'm using one of it's serums and it's prettu effective. According to the brochure:

I've used numerous products over the course of eight years, and I'm happy to say that the condition of my skin has improved tremendously over these years. Though I did advise on more economical spending previously, the products I use includes Biotherm (my favourite), Dermalogica, Bioelements, L'Occitane, SK-II, and TheFaceShop.
Masks help with improving the look of your skin. The mask with the correct ingredients and when applied for a suitable amount of time will help tremendously. For now I'm using Michelle Phan's egg mask (which uses both the white and yolk, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rk4xdYt3ick), Biotherm's Hydra-Detox Masque and Biotherm's Biopur Balancing Purifying mask, at least once a week. Not all together at once, but using them in turns, egg mask this week, masque next week, etc~
