Today's dinner is ...

... salted chicken all the way from Ipoh! Though the size of the chickens have shrunk over the years, but the taste is still the same. We always get our salted chickens from this particular shop in Ipoh, and it is really popular. One time we passed by town and just decided to get some home for dinner, the lady told us that they were sold out, but there were boxes and boxes and boxes stacked up against the wall, all reserved.

Salted chicken is just chicken, rubbed all over with salt and steamed together with some Chinese herbs (namely "dang gui") while wrapped in brown paper. The product is a beautifully savory and fragrant chicken.

Served with this beautiful, flavorful chicken is a plain, mildly peppery steamed egg.
