After hiatus PART 4

I'm crazy. And many times I try to experiment cooking with the usual things you find in the (my) house - eggs, bread, ham, frankfuters, etc. That day, I made a ham and onion bread omelet. Chopped ham, chopped onions, bread torn to pieces and fried into an omelet. I think it was the lack of seasonings, 'cause it was vitually tasteless. o.o And it was a little too much, 'cause you had bread AND egg AND meat.

Over the couple of months, I've made lots of trips to Mid Valley (without permission). These trips were what you call wasting of time and money, 'cause the only thing we did there was walk and walk and walk without much of buying stuff. There was this one time we went into Rock Corner and OHMAIGOD! Japanese, Korean, all my stuff!!! But knowing Mid Valley, everything was over RM35, and I only had RM10 left that day... *sigh~*

Birthdays are inevitable in a person's life. In my case, I have around 8 birthdays to remember every year - my gang's, of course~ Their birthdays span from March all the way down the road to December. So technically speaking, I'm not the oldest, but also not the youngest among us. The way we celebrate the birthdays are something like this - we make a DIY card/video and buy a present (teddy bears, etc), and if the time is right, dinner or lunch somewhere from school. This year, I received the most touching gift I could've gotten from my gang ever - Max Factor False Lash Effect mascara x2. You might think, it's only mascara, what's so touching about that? The truth is, there was an exhibit at Mid Valley's East Atrium one day, and I tried out the FLE. I wanted it, but couldn't get it. Then suddenly, for my birthday, they whipped out some mascaras. I thought one of them were suddenly interested in makeup. Then HinLing gave the little paper bag to me saying 'happy birthday'. I'm not really good at expressing touching stuff, but there you go. =)

Shrimp and apple salad is the ultimate deelish salad~ The name says it all - blanched shrimp and diced apples and Japanese mayonnaise as dressing, plus a tiny bit of hard boiled egg bits and salt. Ooooh, I'm hungry just thinking about it... Gah! Need to have self control! My size has increased and decreased over the past couple of months, usually because of the lack of control and the irresistable temptation of sweet, smooth, calorie-packed desserts. Yecch.

I never really had Japanese-style pasta before I tried Pasta Zanmai. My family members are pasta lovers - creamy sauces, pasta soups, you name it. And me, in particular, I have a real passion (blek~) for Japanese stuff - anime, music, food, etc~ Wafu pasta is available at Pasta Zanmai, in most flavours and types. To compliment the meal, there are assorted side dishes available, as well as a wide range of wafu desserts. The best dessert? In my opinion, it's one of the parfaits~

It's been years and years since I've actually returned to my primary school. Everything's changed so much - the grounds that I used to play on, the buildings and classrooms that held my memories were mostly replaced by upgraded classrooms. Only in certain parts of the compound that I actually experieced nostalgia. The good times, the bad times, the crazy times... I just miss those innocent, care-free years. Anyways, this time going back was to be a makeup artist ... !!! ... for 12 year old kids. The makeup was basic, but dramatic - thick false lashes, cat-eye liner, dark brows (pretty hard 'cause none of them had shaped brows), heavy blush, red lips and (here's the real drama) glittered lids. Literally glittered, with lip gloss and craft glitter. They were to perform a dance - Wonder Girls' Nobody. I more or less hated that song, and I still do. I met old teachers, old schoolmates who confused my name with someone else's and real reminescence that I never really experieced before. How nice it would be to be able to turn back time...

I think I've mentioned about moisturizers in the previous part of the post. This is my new favourite moisturizer after Biotherm's Ultra Cooling Water Gel - The Body Shop's Vitamin E Moisture Cream. I don't know the price, 'cause it came FOC with my other purchases. Lightweight and creamy, the product glides on easily and is quickly absorbed by the skin. It goes on non-sticky or greasy. This really takes care of my peeling nose problem. In certain areas like air-conditioned rooms, moisture is sucked from the place and thus my nose starts to peel like onion skin. After using this one, even with minimal water intake, the skin on my nose stays where they're supposed to be. =)

Tea tree oil acts as a disinfectant and is used for pimples and acne problems, usually. The Body Shop has an amazing range of tea tree products, including the Tea Tree Oil (15% tea tree oil), Tea Tree Blackhead Exfoliating Wash and the Tea Tree Blemish Gel. Personally, I would think that the Blemish Gel would be a not-so-good investment - it does do it's job (it comes with a doe-foot wand and you just apply it directly to the blemish) but it runs out real fast, priced at RM29. The tea tree oil goes on cooling (like the traditional tea tree oil) and absorbs quickly, though the packaging makes it troublesome to get the oil out sometimes. Since it's only 15% tea tree oil, it's not oily (sound pretty ironic). As for the exfoliating wash, it contains crushed apricot stones which helps remove dead skin cells and excess sebum. This product is still in testing, but after 3 weeks of using it (twice a week, foloowed alternately by a multivitamin and skin refining mask), my black head problem hasn't exactly reduced, not that I can see anyways. All products are priced above RM25.

My progress on the classical guitar is moderate ... and getting slightly boring. It's part of the progress, but it's pretty monotonous, 'cause many of the songs in the textbook are actually traditional songs which I haven't even heard before. I've already decided to 'advance' to electric guitar. According to my guitar teacher, Mr Lee, the only difference between the two instruments are the styles of music produced and the way the sounds are produced (classical guitar uses fingering, while electric uses a pick), and the difference of a teacher. For 2 years I've been taking classes with Mr Lee, so a sudden change of teacher is kinda scary.

At long last, I have obtained ... ... ... my teasing comb. (Yeah, it's a really big deal) RM7 from Sungei Wang, thanks to Kiki. The difference between a teasing comb and a normal comb is in the teeth - the normal comb has a row of equal length teeth; the teasing comb, on the other hand, has teeth of alternating lengths (just look at the picture or Google it). Teasing is also known as backcombing, which is literally combing your hair against the direction in which it grows, in short, toward the roots. This helps create volume, and even more volume can be achieved by using a hair wax and/or a hairspray. My hair is (naturally or not) lank and lifeless most of the time, and some visual kei hairstyles involves lots of teasing and hairspray. Teasing was one of my options for thicker-looking hair, the other option was waxing it then scrunching all of it into a just-out-of-bed mess.

If you do eye makeup often, the best investment to prevent find lines and crow's feet before your age is to get a good eye cream/serum. Most (maybe even all) beauty brands have them, but of course, the effectiveness of the product also depends on your skin type and the ability of the skin to absorb, accept and work with the product to make magic on your skin, or in this case skin around your eyes. I've used around 2-3 eye creams in my lifetime, and all in the same year. I remember one of it was the SK-II eye serum (forgot the full name) and the L'Occitane Apple Eye Serum. Both are lightweight, slightly on the dilute side (gel-ish) and are quick-absorbing if you don't apply too much. All I could say is that these products help prevent (if not take care of) the fine lines that appear around your eyes after excessive pulling and rubbing.

The Malaysian KBSM (middle or secondary school syllabus) is pretty much daunting to the non-Bumiputeras (non-Malay or Muslim). The winds are always in favour of the Bumiputeras, as the country has always been helping them since the independence of the country. And in some cases, what they call subjects are just something you need to memorize, and this is what they call 1Malaysia, wanting to be like Singapore - developed. The Pendidikan Moral subject is 'designed' to inject moral values into the students' heads. How? By having them memorize the preposterously long definitions of 32 moral values over 5 years. The final verdict depends on whether you can spit out the definitions word for word.

My Girl is a 2005 Korean idol drama starring Lee Dahae and Lee Junki (forgot the other two's names, what a fan I am~). The story tells of a con-woman on the run who meets a rich man who runs the most prestegious hotel in Korea that his grandfather owns. The grandfather had a mission, that is to find his long-lost granddaughter. He had kicked his own daughter out of the house for marrying a Japanese. In all the chaos, the rich man asked the con-woman to act as his cousin until they find the real one. But as time went on, they slowly fell in love with each other, but the guy's tennis champion ex/GF and his best bud who also fell in love with the con-woman get in the way. The drama was really stupid at first, over-exaggerated scenes and totally impossible events happened. But near the end, it got a little touching, but not in the way that I would have liked, which would be the extremely tear-jerking type.

I love cheese, and I love mushrooms. So what better way than to make cheesy mushroom pasta. I do this the 'cheat' way, which means I just use canned stuff. Proportions are entirely up to the person who is eating, depending on how they like their pasta, etc. Slightly diluted Campbell's Cream of Mushroom Soup, macaroni/broken pasta (wrap the long pasta in a clean dish towel, then run the length of the wrapped pasta over the egde of a table) and cheese of your choice, though I would recommend mozarella plus a bit of cheddar for tang. Cook the pasta with a couple of cloves of peeled and bruised garlic, drain, add the mushroom soup and cook till hot, pour the pasta into a plate/bowl then add the chopped/grated cheese. Mix till every thing is 'well incorporated' and indulge yourself~

Have you ever thought why your life is miserable, especially if you have siblings? It's because the world (despite the whole freedom thing) is still in a 'kill or be killed' state, though not literally. Siblings, friends, cousins, etc would try to take advantage for their own gain (though some are not that low) if you're useful. After that, they could torture you however they want, and when they need something else they'll cuddle up to you again. That's the way the world revolves, people. In my world, that's how it revolves anyway.

Subway, the kingdom of fresh, healthy submarine sanwiches (in my archives). Over 10 delicious choices to choose from, you get all the nutrients in the food pyramid, but at a price of ... ... ... ... ... RM10+ per sub. Now this only applies for some sandwiches only, there are a few which are under RM10, but plus the tax (in The Gardens, Mid Valley, some other places are tax-free), it adds up to RM10. Even with a coupon, the price shocked me. I was like OoO 'this is ridiculous!' I ate it anyway, regretting the RM7+ (buy one free one, shared that with a friend) that I spent on it...

Parents and guardians beware - I'm gonna post a list of the things you should do and be aware of before, during and after an event of playing truant. I'm probably gonna get some legal letter of warning telling me not to complain about my life and help other 'goody-two-shoes' kids do things that they're not supposed to do. So far, the list to blog of after this series: food post, cosmetics post, tutorials (perhaps?) and truant tips~~

I've read a couple of books throughout the couple of months, one of them entitled Where The Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls. The synopsis reads:
Billy, Old Dan and Little Ann - a Boy and His Two Dogs...
A loving threesome, they ranged the dark hills and river bottoms of Cherokee country. Old Dan had the brawn, Little Ann had the brains-and Billy had
the will to train them to be the finest hunting team in the valley. Glory and
victory were coming to them, but sadness waited too. And close by was the
strange and wonderful power that's only found ... WHERE THE RED FERN GROWS
An exciting tale of love and adventure you'll never forget.
This book had me crying like a baby, seriously. Maybe it had something to do with my own dog (he's not dead yet). But the progression of the story wasn't really gripping, on the contrary it was pretty boring.

I had slowly developed a passion for parsley since I was 13, and tuna was part of our main food products (canned, in oil/water). We have it with bread, pasta, and practically anything that can be flavoured. In one of my food experiments, I actually made something like a herby tuna pasta. Again, proportions are entirely up to you. Macaroni/broken pasta, tuna (preferably flakes in olive oil) and lots of parsley (I don't have fresh, so I used dried by McCormick). Cook the pasta with a couple of cloves of peeled and bruised garlic, toss the pasta in some of the tuna oil, mix in the tuna, and add heaps of parsley (some other rather mildly flavoured herb would also be nice).
The last part (hopefully) is part 5. Stay Tuned~

After hiatus PART 3

Basically, I'm a very headache and stomachache prone girl. Headache as I listen to extremely loud rock music everyday, sometimes with headphones, and the stomachache, well, let's just assume that I have a real sensitive stomach. Speaking of sensitivities, I think I have inherited the 'sensitive skin' allelle from my mum's side - the tiniest of changes of regimen or such results in a mini breakout. And not only my face, though my arms and thighs has had some skin problem originally, but suddenly those areas were super sensitive!!

A food post will be coming up after I finish with this uber-long after hiatus blogging thing. And I think I will also post some mini tutorials (ike anyone needs them from me when there's Michelle Phan, MissChievous and Xiaxue =P) or some post related to makeup? 'Cause I just can't stand the way some no-brain wannabe puts on her makeup and look like a cheapass bitch. OMG. I gotta stop the vulgar language, or at least minimise the use of it. I just got told off by my aunt yesterday 'cause I had some vulgar language on my MSN.

For my further education, there are a few choices to make - mass communication, interior design, event planning, or maybe even creative multimedia (I could become like Haze Long~!). These are actually the courses I'm slightly more interested in, other than makeup. =P I don't think I will go for a music course, 'cause I'm starting to get a little bored with my classical guitar classes. Anyone got any ideas? I could use some...

Teenagers and children, sometimes even adults fantasize. About what? Practically anything - from being a popstar (a typical choice for tweeny gals), socialite, or maybe even a character in Final Fantasy. My fantasy? Truthfully speaking, I practically live in FantasyLand. I imagine that I know Lee Minho; I fantasize about doing music with the GazettE; I also sometimes imagine anime characters as my BF. =__= It's OK to fantasize, just keep in mind that fantasy isn't reality, and no matter how much you fantasize, you still have to deal with your problems in reality.

I forgot how many countries there are in total on earth, but I do know this - there are a number that I would like to visit. Japan. Korea. Taiwan. England. America. Australia. Peru. And maybe perhaps Russia. XD But first stop - Thailand, so I can get my nose job. Blek~~

If you live in Malaysia or Singapore, you would be quite familiar with kaya - duck eggs cooked with pandan and something else I think, but anyways it's really flavourful and is really popular among the locals. It's usually eaten with white bread. My favourite brand? Homemade. My mum makes some from time to time, usually when she's making some for friends and family. Generally, you just keep cooking the duck eggs (there are a few other steps, go Google it if you're interested) with some pandan leaves until it becomes a golden or greenish color. Don't let the color fool you, it's really delicious~~

Additional mathematics is one of the most dreaded elective subjects, in my books at least. The only part I understood in the whole form 4 textbook was the 1.1 about sets. Once they entered functions I was like ... 'huh?' That's why I decided to join AhWin this year and drop additional maths, which is much better 'cause I got 0% for it a few times, and I wouldn't want that in my SPM certificate.

Life is drama, but somehow the dramas that come in multiple disc DVDs and VCDs seem much better (though sometimes the antagonist gets a little hateful). For example, Boys Over Flowers - regular girl from a poorer part of town in love with the youngest and richest guy on earth. And You're Beautiful (here's where Jang Geunsuk comes in XD) - a sister-in-training suddenly thrown into the music world in the place of her twin brother and developing a beautiful love story with the band's vocalist. I'm hoping to get Beethoven's Virus soon, it seems it's a good drama...

I didn't know I had a small palette of eyelid-staining eyeshadows till I was improvising for futuristic looks for a school contest (or at least I think it was that incident). It's the Korean-made Abon cream eyeshadows. The stain is actually the color of the eyeshadow that I applied, which was orange. I'm not exactly very fair (slightly tan), but my skin is never orange. So that kinda was a surprise to me. I've seen some posts on staining eyeshadows, but I just thought that it was some skin sensitivity that the user had... =P

I'm an animal lover, but I haven't gone to the extent of joining PetA yet, but there are some cases I just hate. Just a while ago, my neighbour who lives opposite of my house brought home a little puppy, mixed by the looks of it. She seemed in pretty good shape, but then her owner was a working man and was sometimes away for days at a time, and he didn't ask any other neighbours to help feed her or anything. So for days she would go without food, or even worse, water. And even when the owner is back, he doesn't bathe her or play with her - she's generally just stuck in the yard, persumably to guard the house. She was friendly, and was really greedy for food, and pretty much suddenly I started calling her Sasha and tried to make her get used to the name like I did with Duke. Then that got me thinking, what if Duke was still here? Would they be friends? That's a sentence that will remain with a question mark.

There's was an e-mail sometime ago regarding aspartame, an artificial sweetener usually for beverages. The most popular one in Malaysia is Equal, and there are a variety of packagings to cater to different needs. According to the e-mail, aspartame is one of the causes of cancer (forgot which one though). And in some issues of Women's Weekly Malaysia magazine (some pretty old issues), there's a celebrity covered advertisement in there. What are they doing now, promoting cancer?

I've heard of pasteurized milk, but ... pasteurized eggs? That's a first. I know that the pasteurization process is heating up the milk then cooling it down rapidly so that it doesn't spoil as fast. Then how do you define pasteurize eggs? Cook them then plunge them in cold water? The advertisement that I saw said that these are healthier, more bacteria-free eggs than normal eggs, and are richer in vitamins and minerals. I never tried it before, but I'm fine with normal eggs. What about you?

There are two types of mobile phone subscriptions - prepaid (reload cards) and postpaid (the monthly bill that arrives at your doorstep like all other bills). I'm currently using prepaid, and I have thought of converting to postpaid so that my monthly limit would be higher. Back in the day I didn't spend that much money on messaging and/or calls, but since the start of this year I have exceeded my monthly budget on messaging and/or calls. But then again maybe not ...

I got my first liquid liner in October. Well, more of the only liquid liner I could afford. Though I forgot the price of it, it's cheaper than drugstore brands like Maybelline and Revlon, in Malaysia at least. The one I bought is the Elianto Stay-On Liquid Liner. I'm not exactly a fan, but I do like the bottle and applicator. The formula seems a bit runny, or is liquid liner supposed to be that way? In the videos, liquid liners (the good stuff, of course) looks really intense. Anyways, it's my first liquid liner and the only liquid liner I'm using to date. Just a couple of weeks ago I purchased the Revlon Colourstay Liquid Eye Pen, but I haven't started using it yet to avoid drying (if they do dry, that is) of both products.

I've switched through a few moisturizers lately - Bioelements Beyond Hydration and The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream. The Bioelements works wonders, especially for acne-prone skin as it's a gel formula. It's quick absorbing and gives a cool feeling to the skin. The one I used was a sample, so it finished up pretty quickly. As for The Body Shop, it's more to an intense moisturizer, I think. I say this because in the past no matter what moisturizer I used (mainly Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream) still left my nose peeling on dryer days. Since I used the Vitamin E moisture cream, that problem was practically gone. I'm lovin' the quick-absorbency and the nice fruity (?) smell. The con of this product is that it comes in a mini-tub (the one I got was FOC) and so any bacteria will slowly accumulate in the tub, making the skin more vulnerable to breakouts.

Minami Shineyo! is my favourite Korean drama to date, mainly because of the collection of hotness - Jang Geunsuk (Beethoven Virus), Lee Hongki (FT Island) and Jung Yonghwa (CNBlue). This drama also introduced me to Park Shinhye, which I've heard about much but never got to really watch one of her dramas. In this drama, she portrays a sister-in-training who is suddenly approached by the manager of pop band A.N.Jell to stand in for her twin brother for a month due to a failed bout of cosmetics surgery. She was initially rejected by the leader, vocalist and main composer of the band (played by Jang Geunsuk), but after learning of her true gender, he made it part of his duty to keep her identity secret. Unknown to both of them, the band's guitarist (by Yonghwa) had found out about her gender on the first day that she joined the band. All three band members had slowly fallen for her, but the drummer (Hongki) refused to admit the fact because he didn't know that she was a girl. Near the end of the drama, Yonghwa confessed his feelings for her, but was rejected and was told that her feelings were only for the vocalist. The drama ends with her as her true self, finally getting together with the vocalist. (Why am I using 'her's and 'vocalist's? Couldn't I just use their names?!)

My favorite quick fix? The Daiso Mugcake. One egg, one sachet of mugcake mix, a microwave and ta-daa~~ You have your quick hunger satisfactor done. It dries up pretty quickly, though you can help delay that by adding just a hint of milk (no more). You could eat it warm with cold, cold ice cream. Now, that'd be a real treat. And it's completely economical!!! Daiso is an 100yen store that has branches in Singapore and Malaysia (I dunno about other countries). Everything is sold at one fixed price, which is RM5 (S$2). It's an all-in-one store - stationery, cosmetics, skincare, food, decor, accessories, you name it.

After hiatus PART 2

During mid autumn festival this year, mum specially got some yummy yummy treats. Now, I'm not a fan of the traditional lotus paste mooncakes, nor the 'snow skin' mooncakes that are more recent, but I LOOOOOVE this one - the snow skin durian mooncake by Bisgood. One of the branches can be found in Mid Valley Megamall, LG Floor opposite McDonald's next to the DiGi centre. It's basically a flour/confectioner's sugar dusted snow skin holding in the lucious, creamy durian filling. The package says pure durian, but the texture was like durian ice cream to me.

It's nearly the end of my high school education, so what I worry about now is the future (if I even have one). First and foremost, I would like to earn some extra cash, which would mean a part-time job. My 'higher ambitions' were dubbed 'foolishness' by my mum 'cause I wanted to work at the Mid Valley area. What she doesn't know is that I really would like to work at i-SOCKS in Times Square (again). She expects me to take my sis' old job at a video rental shop. Sorry, but I'd rather have 9 inches of makeup on my face at a goth-loli store than work in a video rental shop-cum-convenience store.

I'm usually pretty slow to catch up on trends, which, at that time, was the Cafe Life rage. It's something like Cafe World, but much more polished and simple. Even the avatar is nicer. When Cafe Life says cafe, it's actually a cafe - clean, simple and dainty (the default decors, etc), compared to Cafe World which looks more like a worn 90's restaurant trying to regain fame. And sometimes these games are upgraded too much. Like MapleSEA, I haven't played for a year, a friend talk to me about it and I'm like ... 'huh?'

The Seri Petaling Pizza Hut branch should either change management or should be closed down. The service sucks and they're almost always short on staff, and more flamboyant nature of the younger employees ain't helping. Plus, how could you say 'we're outta tuna' in a restaurant that uses tuna flakes?! As for the pasta ... OMG. My sis could've done a better job - freshly cooked pasta should be tossed in oil to avoid later sticking together. You know what the smarties did? They left the pasta out to cool for perhaps 15 minutes or longer without oil, then tossed it in chilli oil then added prawns to it and it was called a prawn olio spaghetti. It was disgusting, all clumped together and virtually tasteless.

As for the Garlic Butter Pizza, seriously it tasted like ... I dunno, some sourish cream with mozarella. There might've been butter but there wasn't any garlic in it at all. So why call it garlic butter pizza? Beats me, I'm not the one who names these things. Oh yeah, the newest launched pizza, the one with 6 cheeses? Pizza Hut launched a similar product almost a decade back. I forgot whether it was the same few cheeses or even the same number of cheeses, but a pure cheese pizza was launched. C'mon lah, if you wanna copy your senior's work, please be sure that enough time has passed before you present it.

A day after the Pizza Hut incident, we went for badminton at the community centre. Once again, we played badminton till near death, then fooled around till even my socks were thrown away by the cleaning lady. =P Why, you ask? Because I took off my shoes and my socks for some pantomime play, then just went out barefoot for a while, when we came back they were gone. Lucky thing my mum doesn't keep count of the number of socks that I have.

A couple of weeks later came our class T-shirt. Though I had that little bit of involvement with the design, I pretty much hated it. It was white shirt with yellow collar and trimmings. When I saw the color I was like 'what the...?!' AhWin immediately stated that the thing looked like the Sugarcraft uniform, and he was right. I made a trip to the night market one Tuesday with Chicken wearing the T-shirt, and coincidentally this group of Sugarcraft students just finished classes and was walking around the market. They caught sight of me and was practically gawking at me like I had two heads. =x

The T-shirts arrived somewhere in the middle of our trial exams, I think. I can't recall. =P The trail exams will basically be the evaluation of how hard the real thing would be and if anything happens to your official results, your trial results will be taken.

Relationships between members of our gang began to tense around that time. Some people were going overboard with some things, some were denying changes in themselves and some keep bringing up incidents that make people feel guilty. Practically everyone was talking behind everyone's back. At one point I was dubbed no man's land and tried to make peace between two of my friends. Unfortunately, my efforts were wasted. They still don't like each other, or at least they're not talking to each other. =P

Curry noodles, bee hoon in particular, are one of my favourite foods. Just take the bean sprouts outta the bowl and it's perfect for lunch and dinner. I love the curry noodles at Fatty Mok and a stall at the Tuesday Seri Petaling night market. Why bee hoon and not the yellow noodles? Firstly, I find that there's some distinct taste in yellow noodles that doesn't really agree with my palette, and secondly, bee hoon is the only type of noodles that soaks up the soup under 3 minutes, giving you flavour in every strand of noodle. Curry kueh teow only promises two things - a mess and extra calories. As far as noodles go, the lou shu fun and kueh teow are the most fattening noodles because the needed a lot of oil to keep the noodles from sticking together.

We had borrowed Boys Over Flowers from my unc for about a year already but we just havent got round to watching it. But out of the blue my mum wanted to watch it, and since then, my mum had become what I never thought she would become - a Korean drama, Lee Minho and Kim Hyunjoong fanatic. They're called F4, and they're the richest/most powerful/most popular/most handsome kids in Korea. Being pampered since birth, they ruled the school, pulling mean pranks on other kids (actually I should use 'students') until some of them commit suicide to put an end to the hell on earth. Then Geum Jandi turns up, turning Junpyo's life the other way around, but she only has feelings for Jihoo, Junpyo's best friend since childhood. The story proceeds (supposedly to the requests of viewers) until they all succeed in their ambitions but Jandi had yet to accept Junpyo's proposal. I'll tell you this - I hate the ending. I hate it so much that a 9.9/10 rating went down to 9/10.

I finally went for a facial last month, just around 3 weeks of going with Ushishi's skin regimen - warm and cold water. They all went bonkers when I said I hadn't used anything at all for three weeks. I'm not 5 years old, I know skin care products and such better than you do. My research (more of just reading) on cosmetics, skin care and such surpass your own knowledge of it. And anyway it's my skin, and since I'm not using any products my skin isn't damaged, at most it's get a little oversunned and/or dehydrated. During a facial at Holistic Touch Seri Petaling, they first double cleanse your face, then put on a masque. While the masque is working its magic, they give you a de-stress massage with aromatherapy oil. The masque is cleared, your face is steamed then on to extraction. Strangely enough (whether it's just the aesthetician or me), the needle was used much less than the first couple of times I was there. After extraction, they put a really cold masque on your face so that the open pores will close and seal out the sebum, dirt, etc. While that's on your face, an excruciating leg massage is given. Then they follow with the usual toner, serum and moisturizer. The lady even redid my brows for me. The shape looked so weird I started growing them out and I've reshaped them again...

The product that is slowly rising to fame now are lash volumizing and lengthening serums. L'Oreal launched the first one. Then I saw a review on the Lilash by MissChievous. Then that day I had my facial I found another brand - Ilash. Ladies now crave for long, luscious lashes, especially ladies with monolids as the lashline is usually pulled slightly inward, thus making the lashes look shorter than they really are.

Right after I left the spa, I saw an actual crime scene in front the Soon Fatt seafood restaurant. The scene was complete with bloody shoe, lots of reporters and an actual police line (the yellow tape thing they use to keep people from contaminating the crime scene). I never knew what happened there, but after a couple of days things were back to normal. Let's hope that whatever happened there didn't end for the worst. *prays*

We're a fan of IKEA. Sometimes when we need a chair or some furniture replaced, we take the chance to walk IKEA for most of the morning, then have a satisfying meal at the Restaurant. One time, my mum came back from work with an aluminium toothpaste tube. It was actually a prawn cheese spread from Sweden. The mechanism works just like a regular toothpaste tube, but what comes out is delisius creamy prawn and cheese spread suitable for bread and crackers.

For Hsin Yiee's birthday, we celebrated at Shabu Garden in Kuchai Entrepreneurs Park. If compared using quality, quantity and value, I would prefer 100'C just down the road. The soup selection at SG was wider than 100, but the freshness of the seafood was a little off. The scallop were small and the shells were broken. The set was rather small (smaller than I expected) but it was more expensive than 100's. The drinks at SG are a lot better, though~

Right after eating shabu shabu with the gang, we were headed out to Leong Ya Balakong for dinner. We ordered my favourite deep fried soft shell crab and fried tofu~~ Ooh that was a night to remember. I saw Ong Xiao Li at one point, or at least I think it was her and just started reminiscing on my primary school days where there wasn't so much stress about being mature and worrying about our future. During those days it was all play and very little study. Ah, how I miss those days, but not the part where most of the boys boycotted me for my crappy temper. ~.~

Part 2 complete for now, 'cause I gotta sleep!!!

After hiatus PART 1

A month's worth of absence and I have lots of things to blog about. More than 100, to be exact. I have lots of photos, but I hate that Blogger constantly reformats my text right after I upload pics and squeezes all my text into one paragraph, which makes reading hell, though I doubt that anyone ever does take the time to read my blog. After all, I'm not Michelle Phan or Xiaxue...

Everytime I go to Times Square, it's usually unknown to my mum. The only people who know about my trips are the people who go with me and at least one family member. Everytime, I go with my gang, usually to either buy particular stuff, watch a movie, go for karaoke or just to walk around and spend time. Oh yeah, and usually we play truant to go out. This time, we went there for a movie, Resident Evil: Afterlife, specifically.

Whaddaya know? RE: Afterlife is 18+ because of the 'gruesome' scenes that will damage innocent minds. =__= So then we opted for Devil, because no one wanted to watch Step Up 3D (fuck 'em), and we wouldn't watch Senario. The movie was actually nicely concepted, but only averagely executed. The devil would disguise himself among the wrong-doers, pretending to be one of them. And as publicly as possible, he'll kill everyone unless they take responsibilities for their actions and everyone else that tries to intervene.

We walked to Sungai Wang mall for lunch at T-Bowl Concept Restaurant. The usual thing about concept restaurants is that you just pay for the decor and the concept, you don't actually pay for the food, 'cause it usually sucks like hell. I ordered a cheese-baked chicken rice, and the cheese tasted as if it was cooked then left for a few days before being reheated and served - it had some kind of weird, sourish taste to it.

My makeup theme for the day was emo. So what I did was just thickly line my eyes with black liner, smudge the top into a smoke and line the waterlines, paired with pale lips. Unfortunately I looked more like a zombie-wannabe than an actually emo person, 'cause of the lack of concealer and the abundance of dark circles under my eyes. o.o

While we were back at Times Square, I seized the oppotunity to stock up my casual T-shirts. I do have T-shirts, but most of my tops are either half to long sleeves top and are far to suffocating for shopping trips that require taking public transport and walking under the merciless sun. What I bought? A white Death Note T-shirt, with chibi Light & L... Cute, but I don't remember Light having piercings, do you? o.o

I had a sudden craving for those long-ish wallets at that time and was looking high and low for a suitable one. But like all my other 'cravings', the rush got the best of me, which means although I planned to go to every stall and store possible to look for one, the rush to just own one overwhelmed me and I bought a (HUGE MISTAKE) white one which looks like an envelope with a teddy bear on it.

I know I've been ranting about aviators for a long time and in the end I did get a pair, but suddenly I want another pair. So much for minimalist, huh? XD The time we were at Times Square I saw some really nice ones, which means (the kind I'm obsessing about now) white frame, sepia lenses and a real nice bridge. So far I've put off actually buying a pair, but the thought still floats in every now and then especially on shopping trips with family when I don't have to use my own money~ XD

We sometimes go out for dinner or lunch on weekends, mostly depending on my mum's mood. We either eat out or order pizza or just let someone do the cooking and all of us dig in. For a couple of weekends, mum brought us to Thomas Western which is a night stall that opens at the OUG market. Though the choices are pretty much limited, but they compensate for that with the taste and quality, not losing on quantity either. The top photo black pepper grilled lamb chop, the bottom one is mushroom sauce mixed grill. I forgot to mention that it's pretty healthy considering that their food is grilled, complete with potatoes (and tapioca) and mixed veggies.

Everytime I go out with my gang, what I wear is usually any T-shirt and the same 2 pairs of jeans, occasionally my faded olive three-quarter pants. And knowing the local weather, it's bloody faggin' hot wearing jeans. So I told my mum (very politely) that I would like some decent going-out shorts that're not too short (I have thunder thighs, alright) and not too long (then it'll just be another pair of beach shorts, so no thanks). We went to Jusco and F.O.S, but nothing was right - either it didn't fit, it was too short, it was too long, or the design was just plain ugh... Till now I'm still looking for a pair of casual shorts, mostly at other places like ... I think you know what place I'm talking about ... yeah, Times Square.

My obsession with sky-high heels are still here. My mum and sis all criticise me for this, but hey! I was born without my mum's tall alelle, and even my 12 year old sister is gonna be taller than me, don't you think I should take some initiative? My 3 and half inch wedges are getting slightly short for me. My next target - gladiator or super strappy heels, preferably 4" or more. To have a picture of the design, go to xiaxue.blogspot.com and check out a post with a Fann Wong photo (it's pretty old, and I didn't take the time to remember the title). Anyways it's a picture with lots of people and Fann Wong, her heels were like OMG!!!

Around a month before the start of my SPM (23rd November), my mum tried to make a 'deal' with me - I get good results, THEN she let's me go to Tokyo Dome, which is around, what, around THREE FUCKING MONTHS LATER, AFTER THE GAZETTE'S CONCERT!!! I do really want to go to Japan, but then the main reason I made the request this time was 'cause I wanted to see the concert with Wisely. BUT WHAT'S THE FUCKING POINT IF MY PERMISSION IS ONLY GRANTED THREE MUTHAFUCKIN' MONTHS LATER??!!

Perfume is designed to just enhance the smell of the body to make you smell more sexy, sweet, slutty, whatever. It's NOT designed to help you mask disgusting odours from the kitchen. You want that function, you use an antiperspirant or a deodorant, not perfume, asshole. For perfume, the maximum sprays you use are 2 sprays, anymore than that you need another bath, 'cause you're gonna smell like hell and kill everyone else's smell receptors. Seriously, I could smell you from the other side of the bathroom door. Give it a break, woman! Perfume is expensive! It's not deodorant!

My lenses have expired. I think regular readers would know that. I want new lenses, though I'm still contemplating on the colour. For now, I have my sights set on pink lenses, the EOS Adults in particular. According to Noxin of Occasionally Cute, these are the most true pink lenses, and they look really sharp (which is the effect I'm looking for). I also contemplated on purchasing GEO's crazy lenses, but they could only be worn for 2 hours at a time, so maybe I'll get a green or blue. I'm blessed with large eyes, so I prefer colour to size, and therefore I'm not a fan of overly dark coloured, black, brown or gray lenses.

Just before I started the hiatus, there was suddenly something weird in my address bar. Usually after you type in an address, the system would remember the URL for you. So usually if you've typed 'www.youtube.com', the next time you type 'www.you...', a drop menu would appear and immediately display the full address for you. But then suddenly there was a Youporn link. o.O Just all out of the blue, when no one had surfed any porn sites. Is there a problem? Or is someone actually visiting Youporn and denying it. And, no, I don't deny that I do watch porn every once in a blue moon, but not on Youporn, thank you very much.

I read a post on Ushishi once, which is about face care. I've concluded from experience and reading that if you originally have porcelain skin, don't slab on tons of unnecessary creams 'cause it's a waste of money and it screws your skin. If you have acne or blemish prone skin, then use quick absorbing and/or gel products. Ushishi's regimen was just warm water to cleanse, then cold water to close the pores. But that's her face, she has beautiful skin. No matter what scrubs or masks I use I still have abundant blackheads. I wish I lived in a cold country...

I'm not much of a nail polish person, but I do like my nails pretty during the short periods of holidays I get once I started going to school. So what I do is I rummage through my mum's stash and pick a color. That was last time, now I try mixing and layering colors together, then layer on a coat of colorful glitter. If not I just do a simple but pretty manicure of medium length nails and a coat of glitter polish. I try to go funky, but sometimes the colors just pop too much and people look at my nail with disgust rather than awe. =__=

During one day, our penolong kanan (I think) told us (form 5s) that a few classes would be proceeding to SMK Seri Saujana for an education fair, which was for the general interests of other people, though there was a makeup academy booth and I finally made contact with Stella In. So what I did was nip a few pastries from the Sugarcraft booth then just stand around waiting for the whole thing to end.

The basic concept about hairstyling is that you lose hair if you style too much. Give your hair a day or two's rest every week. Think of it as recuperation, in which time you give it some treatment (think spa). Although I don't style often at all, everytime I start styling, the hair comes out like rain. For better haircare, you could visit Xiaxue.blospot.com 'cause she posts entries on hair care techniques. You should believe her 'cause she bleaches her hair every month and her hair still looks glossy (though not perfect, but it's better than others).

At some point there was this report about a woman's implants bursting on a plane due to the different pressure. I was like ... HUH?! I thought implants were silicone? It seems that the lady got the cheapo implants that used ... you're gonna have this expression on your face: =__= ... water balloons. And this smart lady took a flight somewhere, knowing that pressure changes as the higher or lower you go from the normal atmospheric pressure. I dunno whether she died, but I only know that her boobs were history. =X

After three years of wiping pee off the floor and risking bites, Duke was finally sent away. Much to my despair, but my mum and dad were strongly with the idea. Dad liked dogs, but supposedly this 'mutt' was a monster. FUCK YOU. Mum loved him, but the work was just too much for her, as she was already juggling work and family. The younger one cried, sure, but the older one looked like she wasn't affected. She even seemed pleased that he was gone. FUCK HER AS WELL. The whole reason why he is gone is 'cause only mum & me did the work. The older one came home from school/work late and had the ultimate excuse not to do anything, but she did spend time with him on the weekends by venting her frustrations on him. The younger one, oh sure, you could tell her to do something, but she'll just get up begrudgingly, get the job sloppily done then just sit her ass back down on the couch/chair to continue whatever she was doing. How nice. And I wonder who was it who wanted the dog so badly. And I thought we had a first-hand agreement that we would share the duties of the little Duke, but of course, like any other kid, it was an empty promise, same goes with the older one. At least I did my chores everyday and spent some time with him. Right now I just miss him like crazy. Mum did say that we would go visit him, but it's been ages now and I haven't even seen his tail.

Back to more interesting and bright things, such as lash curlers. MissChievous and Michelle Phan uses the shu uemura curler; and I read on some other blog that cheapo lash curlers don't work as well as the shu uemura one, which ultimately tempts me to get one. I dunno the price, but knowing shu uemura, it's not cheap. Actually, shu uemura is actually more expensive than M.A.C in Malaysia. I dunno whether this is the case for other countries, but it came as a surprise to me 'cause I thought that M.A.C was the most expensive, then followed by shu uemura and Bobbi Brown. o.o

I had 8 piercings, now I have 7, 'cause I decided to let my left helix close up. What made me do this? It was swollen and sensitive even after such a long period of time. So I'll let it close up now and get it done again along with my 9th one. As for my stretched piercing, I still haven't gotten my stainless steel tunnel yet. This is partly because I was usually out of funds when I did get the chance to visit the silver store. Yeesh... My green Starbucks straw works well, but it looks weird when I use silver accessories for my other piercings. =s

I have this new term that I use to describe the kind of stylish people I wanna be - Japanese Ulzzangs. If you mix around with Japanese and Korean culture, I think you'd have a rough picture of what I said. Ulzzangs (I got this definition from MakeupPiggy) are Koreans, usually young men and women, with perfect skin and flawless makeup. I added the Japanese 'cause I really wanna be like Kiyodoll or Emeraude. *sigh~* Talk about peer pressure. I wish I had the guts that Xiaxue has. I know that no one is perfect, but it's really tempting to dress up and makeup like that and have everyone praising how good you look (directly or indirectly, some people just point and whisper to the person beside them that the person has an inch on makeup on).

I like photography, don't get me wrong, it was the thing I signed up for when I entered the Editorial Board anyways. What I don't like is that people keep asking me to take pictures, which in another way means standing around waiting for something interesting to snap, while everyone sits comfortably enjoying themselves. I have a duty to do this at school, so that's ok. What I hate is that relatives and friends ask me to help them take photos of certain events during a party that I planned to sit back and enjoy. Helping them is OK, the extremely not OK part is when someone else volunteered for the job then just shoved the camera at me when they were bored with it. FUCK PEOPLE LIKE THAT.

My whole gang knows who I crush on. I don't think it's only my gang, 'cause news tends to leak beyond the boundaries and goes international. =P Nah, I'm being sarcastic, but usually a large number of people knows, and most of those people are people outside of the gang. Right now I have 2 crushes. Yeah, sure, it's a lot, but it's less than 5, right? Anyways, one of you knows who you are. The other one, well, you just watch out. =)

I'm splitting this post into a few parts 'cause I think you guys know how I blog, which is by the truckload. Lots and lots of text, and a few pictures dotting the article. So that's it for part one, look forward to part two, if you're interested in a really crazy and stupid life. =) Ps. I forgot to rotate one of the pics. =P

After hiatus INTRO

I know I've been gone for some time already, and this is because one stormy day, my lazy sis didn't pull out the telephone line plug from the modem and the modem got fried when a bolt of lightning struck. My other sis kept saying that she'll get it done soon, but she just went to the cyber cafe anytime she needed some internet. Anyways, now it's finally done, thank gawd, 'cause I've loads of stuff to blog about.

The reason why this is called intro is over the month or so, I've listed more than 120 things to blog about, which are mainly the things and conflicts and such that I have encountered over the past month. Unfortunately, I'm having my big exam right now (SPM to the Malaysians) and so Internet time is limited, but I'll finish on the 14th, and after that I can blog all I want. For now, I'll stop here, 'cause it's just started raining, and in fear of frying the modem once again, I have to log off. So, ciao!!
