delicious experience =)

delicious Cafe is under The Delicious Group and is also part of the Eastern & Oriental (E&O) Group, and has 5 branches in the Klang Valley. The one I went to this afternoon was the one at Mid Valley Megamall.

The signature of the cafe is the many bird-cage lanterns, and it's all that that is used to decorate the interior of the cafe. The menu offers a wide variety of Western and local delights, as well as various pastries and desserts. The staff are relatively friendly and are dressed in more casual-looking uniforms. The atmosphere gives a very classy feeling, though homey.

Food-wise, the quality is superb and the portions fairly large, thus making the prices quite reasonable. Everything was fresh, the meats were tender, everything not overdone or underdone. Though I'll have to say, service-wise they're a little slow, and a little too casual for my liking. The management could put some decoration pieces on the walls so that the items can absorb the sound and reduce echo. Seating arrangement is a little messy, but the different arrangements helps seat parties of all sizes.

My mum ordered the Pan-Seared Cod served with Sauteed Prawns on Ratatouille and Fried Potatoes [RM48.90]. The cod itself was cooked to perfection and was tender beyond words, potatoes had a slight, delightful crisp to it. My first taste of zucchini was heaven. XD Nothing was under- or overseasoned.

The twerp ordered the most expensive Chargrilled Grain-fed Chilled Sirloin Steak 300gm [RM55.90] in medium rare. Though the beef jus was split, the steak itself was delicious, tender and flavorful. No other comments there, try it and you'll know. ;D

My sis ordered the Duck Confit Spaghettini with Coriander [RM24.90]. Not much comment there, either, just delicious. XD

My favorite of the meal (excluding dessert) - Mascarpone Pesto Chicken served with Fried Potatoes & Asparagus [RM39.90]. As the name suggests, I got two large pieces of chicken (one thigh and another breast) stuffed with mascarpone and fried to perfect tenderness, then partially blanketed in perfect pesto (blended basil, coriander, pine nuts, salt and olive oil). I was never really an asparagus person, but these had me in heaven. XD

As for the desserts, we had lots to choose from. In the end, we agreed on a Banoffee Pie [RM10.90] and a Marmalade Bread and Butter Pudding [RM10.90]. In my opinion the desserts are a little expensive, but that's what you pay for quality. =) Banoffee pie is basically banana and coffee pie, but this one was a little mild on the coffee for my liking. The bread and butter pudding, which is served with custard sauce, is heaven - soft, melt-in-you-mouth cake of bread and butter, with occasional chunks of candied orange.

For a 4-person meal, with two desserts, the bill totalled up to RM250+.

In conclusion:
Food: 11/10
Service: 8.5/10
Environment: 8.5/10

Definitely a must-go place, especially when the special days roll around. =) Excuse the bad photo quality, though, I had to compromise with a 2MP camera. =X
